Cleaning Make-Up Brushes

I will not lie to you, cleaning make up brushes is quite the chore because for one it takes ages and I always end up burning my hands with the hot water. It is super important to clean your brushes as there will be so much bacteria in them as you use them on your face every day. Most people wash them every two weeks and I wash mine every week as my skin is rather sensitive. I always find it takes longer to clean the brushes I use for foundation and concealer as the product really gets into the brush, so it needs a lot more attention. Eye brushes are so much easier to wash and they dry quicker as well.
You would be surprised as to how many people don't wash their brushes and it just isn't very hygienic.
I don't have many brushes, which is why I tend to clean them every week, whereas some people who have more brushes can use different ones on any day.
I don't mind cleaning my brushes as I'll just listen to music (whilst dancing around the bathroom, as you do) and once they are done, you don't have to worry about it for another week! Plus your brushes will be CLEAN!! Yayy!!
  1. Lay out all of your dirty brushes
  2. Run your brush under hot/lukewarm water
  3. Pump some soap onto the brush and swirl around in your hand (anything antibacterial will do, mine is just any soap that my Mum has bought)
  4. Start swirling your brush around in the palm of your hand, whilst occasionally adding more water (to make bubbles and foam!!), which will wash away all the bacteria
  5. Squeeze out the foam and excess product and repeat with adding soap and water until your brushes are all super clean
  6. Let your brushes and dry (I usually use a flannel to help quicken the drying up) and when you next use them, you will know you are being hygienic with lovely looking, clean brushes!!!
Hope you enjoyed this little insight to make up brush cleaning! :P Bye for now!
Sorry some of the pictures are blurry, the camera just wasn't focusing properly...
