MAC Lipsticks

About two weeks ago I passed my driving test so I thought I would treat myself to a MAC lipstick, or two. I obviously did a lot of research about which ones I wanted to buy. I read reviews on the website, read blogs, watched YouTube videos and finally decided on which two I wanted to start off my collection. MAC lipsticks are not cheap, but they are not overly expensive compared to others that are high end. (They are £15 each).
I don't own many red lipsticks, but the ones I do own have either got a blue, pink or orange undertone and I really wanted just a pure red. And the one that I could find matched this was 'Russian Red'. It has a matte formula, which is great because that means it will stay on a lot longer. It is such a stunning colour and would be a great accessory for a simple outfit and will also be great for the Winter season.

The next one I bought was 'Sweet & Sour'. I saw a video on this one and I looked for it everywhere and then found out that it was once part of a limited edition collection. I got an e-mail that was titled 'We're back!' and I saw that this lipstick was coming back to be part of MACs permanent collection. This is such a pretty peachy coral colour and will be awesome for the Summer months. This is a cremesheen formula, so is more glossy and more creamy.

Both of these lipsticks smell incredible and the packaging is awesome, it's like metal instead of plastic. They both came in their own little box and the delivery was super fast and if you spend over £30 it's free delivery, but MAC sometimes do free delivery on any purchase, so yay!

I really want to buy another one, but no idea which one, so any suggestions will be great! Thank you!!

Book Haul

I love to read a good book and recently I have just sorted out my book collection so I know exactly what I have and which books I can read next. I recently did some book shopping on Amazon as the prices are reduced a considerable amount, compared to in the shops. Before I bought any of the books, I did research on them and read up on reviews and managed to find some awesome books that I cannot wait to start reading. I love holding a book compared to reading it on a kindle, however physical books are obviously a lot bulkier and heavier to travel with, but oh well.
I'm one of those people that will watch a film and then realise that it was originally a book, so I love to buy a book once I have watched the film, just to see how it compares. Plus books make more sense to me as they tell me more, because I get confused very easily.

The first book I bought was 'The Fault In Our Stars'. I read this last summer but I borrowed the book from someone, so I felt like I needed my own copy, plus my sister wanted to read it as well. I love this book and it is incredible and I am sure most people have heard about it as it is one of the most talked about books plus the film has just been released and I really want to go and see that. The quote on the front of this book is by Markus Zusak and reads: 'You laugh, you cry, and then you come back for more', which is completely and utterly true. I would really recommend this book. Author: John Green

The next book I purchased was also a book that I read last year: 'The Evolution Of Mara Dyer'. This is the second book in the trilogy and it is amazing!! The third book isn't coming out until like later this year or even next year, I don't even know, but the first and second books are incredible. I could not put them down and I completely fell in love with Noah Shaw, one of the main characters in the book. This series was recommended to me by one of my classmates at school and she let me borrow this book from her, so I thought it was time I bought my own. This is a 'darkly funny, deliciously creepy, and genuinely thoughtful' book (quote by Veronica Roth) and I couldn't agree more. I would definitely recommend this series of books. Author: Michelle Hodkin

This next was, I was super excited about as I read Giovanna Fletcher's 'Billy And Me' last year and loved it and this year she brought out 'You're The One that I want' and it is such a beautiful love story and I loved all the characters and I love how it is written from two of the characters point of view. The artwork for this book is so gorgeous and I love the book so much, I would definitely recommend this book as it bought a tear to my eye, which is rare for me. Author: Giovanna Fletcher

I was watching a YouTube video, about books, you know, as you do and it seems that many people have been talking about the book 'Across The Universe'. This is a science-fiction novel and the blurb is so intriguing. She basically wakes up 50 years before she has to and I guess is parted from her parent forever, but it is a love story as well. I haven't read this yet, so I will let you know how that goes. Author: Beth Revis

I absolutely loved the film 'The Woman In Black' and even though I have seen it so many times, I still hide behind a cushion or scream at the TV (DO NOT watch this film alone). Truth is, I didn't actually know this was a book, so I thought I'd give it a go. I am excited to read this book as the Daily Express say that it is 'Heartstoppingly Chilling' and I don't quite know how I feel about that but we shall see. Author: Susan Hill

The first time I watched 'The Great Gatsby' I fell asleep, so I decided to watch it again, and I loved it so much. I love that it is funny and sad and that it was set in the 1920s as it all looks super glamorous. This book is only 115 pages long and I don't know why, but I expected it to be really long, but I'm not complaining. When I got this book, I opened it up and oh my goodness, it looks like it is going to be the hardest book to read, but as I have seen the movie, I already know the plot, so I am hoping this will help. Although I haven't read this yet, from the first lines in the book, I can already tell that it is going to be pretty much the same as the film as the words were used script of the movie. I think I will leave this book for a long journey as I don't think I am ready to tackle it just yet. Author: F. Scott Fitzgerald

Whilst I was book shopping, I thought I may as well pick up 'The Hobbit' as I have been wanting to read this for the longest time. My Dad was clearing out all his books last year and he got rid of this one without asking me, so I finally bought it again, yayyy!! I have only seen film one of 'The Hobbit' as I fell asleep in the second one, but I have watched 'The Lord of the Rings' countless times, so I am not new to the series. I need to find out if we have the other 3 books as I would love to read them all. I am super excited to start reading this book. Author: J.R.R. Tolkien

I was watching a book haul on YouTube, because I got really bored, and I saw someone taking about a book called 'Love Letters to the Dead' and the title is self explanatory really. I was just quire intrigued by the concept of this book, so I thought I'd buy it. Author: Ava Dellaira

The next three books are part of a 5 book series called 'The Lunar Chronicles' and they are a twist on well known fairy tales. The first book is 'Cinder', a twist on 'Cinderella'. The second book is 'Scarlet', a twist on 'Little Red Riding Hood' and the third book is 'Cress', a twist on 'Rapunzel'. On the back of each book it states that 'This is not the fairy tale you remember. But it's one you won't forget' and this sounds so exciting. Author: Marissa Meyer

I literally don't know where to start and which book I should read first. I also really want to buy the collection of 'The Mortal Instruments' and 'Ender's Game' - (that film was incredible) and so many more books, but I will start reading these and then buy some more.
I will post reviews on books that I really love and enjoy, so watch out for them!

Huge Beauty Haul

I have bought quite a few bits and pieces over the past few months, so I thought I would share them with you.. I have used most of these items but a couple are very recent purchases.
I'll start with the Sleek make up. I have wanted to try their range of make up for ages, but every time I go online or into Superdrug, the things I want are never there, but finally I managed to pick up some of the things I really wanted. A couple months ago I bought The eyeshadow pallet in 'Garden Of Eden' and this is a green/brown based pallet and it is just super pretty and I was thinking that this would be great for Christmas time and my favourite colour is green, so yay! Last week I then picked up the pallet in 'Storm' and I really wanted this because I have heard that the shade 'Sand Storm' is a great dupe for 'Woodwinked' from M.A.C. I have wanted that shade for ages and the pallets are only £7.99 each which is awesome and they are so pigmented. I then picked up the blush in 'Rose Gold' as I swatched it in the shop and it was super pretty and it was under £5, so...Mine has somehow managed to crack, but oh well, it's still pretty. I then saw the contour/blush/highlight kit and it was the only one left in the shade 'Light' and this is never in stock, so I had to pick it up and it is so pretty and yeah I just really wanted it. This was £9.99, and I know that there is one from Urban Decay which is £22.00. I only realised that Sleek did lipsticks a couple days ago and I saw someone talk about the shade 'Baby Doll' and again it has never been in stock, but it was the last one left so I grabbed it and it is such a pretty baby pink colour with a blue undertone and I love it so far.

I then bought the beauty complexion sponge as I have been wanting one for ages and I thought what the heck, so yeah (my logic is so weird).

I was in TK Maxx yesterday and I love anything that is vintage and this is the best place to go. Whilst my sisters were looking in the clothes section, I was off upstairs looking for baskets and tins... wow!! I firstly found a white basket with a strawberry lining and I immediately picked it up, because once things are gone in that shop, they are gone! it was only £9.99 and at Easter I saw one, but with an Easter egg lining and I didn't get that, so this was a great buy. I am storing all of my toiletries and body butters in it as I buy a lot and then forget I have them, so if I have them on display, I will use them more often!! I then saw a bunch of tins and I couldn't decided between them. I firstly picked up the pink 'Chupa Chups' tin and I thought it was too cute to not get, so I picked it up and currently it is chilling on my floor. I then saw a biscuit tin which was super cute and I bought that as well...I think these were under £5.00 each, which was great. I then walked away and I could smell something amazing so I went on a hunt for candles and found make up storage instead, so I picked up the rounded one and this was only £7.99 and fits most of my make up in it perfectly and I love it.

I have recently been loving The Body Shop and I already had a £10 off voucher form my last purchase, but when we walked in, there was another offer which was' buy one get one half price', and I am not great at maths, so this was a very hard purchase to make. I heard someone rave about the Tea Tree Cool and Creamy wash and this is incredible. I have used this twice now it burns your face (in a good way) and it just feels like it is actually doing something. it was only £5 and I was expecting it to be more, but hey ho. I then saw the raspberry body scrub and this was probably the one thing that I heard numerous people rave about. It looks like jam and smells like cherry bake-wells, but I ma pretty sure that it won't taste very good. I am super excited to use this. I also picked up the coconut body scrub as I love the scent and coconut is supposed to do wonders for you, so yay! I also always want a lip balm from them, but they are £4, but as it was all on a great offer, I chose the Pink Grapefruit one as it smells amazing and it was pink and cute! A couple weeks ago I went in and picked up something from the vitamin C range and I chose the eye reviver duo as I had really bad dark circles under my eyes and vitamin c is supposed to be great... I don't know if this has done anything, because to me I will always look like a panda...when I went to pay at the counter, the sales assistant offered me the body shop card ad its like the Boots and Superdrug cards.. you get 10%off every purchase for a year and a birthday present and it's £5, but I got mine for £2.60?? I then got a free gift with the purchase of the card and it was an elderflower eye gel and some samples of shower gels. All in all, it was a wonderful trip to the body shop.

I bought a few clothes, but I will do a different post on them and I also have a few books I want to talk about, so look out for those blog posts.
