Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick Review

I have loved make up from the age of 15, which is only for 3 years, but if I had to choose one make up brand, Rimmel would be at the top of my list! I literally love all of their make up from their face products to their lip products. They just do it all so well! I am sure most people have heard of Kate Moss, but if not, she is an English model and she has her own make up range with Rimmel. She started her collaboration with Rimmel in 2001 and in 2011 she created and launched her own make up range with them.  You can find her range in any drugstore. For more information on her range, you can click here.

The lipstick that I hear most people talk about in the Kate Moss range is the shade 107 and since I bought it I can see why. It is an absolutely gorgeous deep red, which has purple undertones and is perfect for any occasion. It is a matte colour and this is personally better for me as shinier lipsticks can always feel a little bit more sticky. It claims to be a 'sumptuous rich, matte colour with sublime comfort' with an 'intense velvet colour all day' and I have to agree that it does last all day and it is so soft and easy to apply. It is a buildable colour and because it is a matte colour, it can make your lips seem quite dry, but not as dry as other lipsticks I have heard about. So to prevent this from happening I usually use my Maybelline baby lips lip balm to moisturise my lips before application. A tip my sister told me is to use a cotton bud to apply the lipstick as it gives a better colour pay off and will last even longer, even though this lipstick lasts for ages anyway. I even bought my older sister, Zoe, the exact same one, because I couldn't let her miss out on this beauty!! There are 5 shades in total in this particular lip collection and I would happily buy all of them, but I just can't bring myself to do it!
The packaging is so cute and it stands out in my lipstick collection as it is dark red with a black neck. What makes it better is the fact that it is also matte, which helps represent the actual collection itself. Kate Moss has her signature on all of her lipsticks and I just think the whole idea is genius! And for only £5.49 each  *insert gasping face here* is an absolute bargain, you definitely cannot go wrong with this! I am still literally so excited by this lipstick, it's just awesome and will definitely be one of my favourites for a very long time. I am just hoping that another offer will come our way in the drugstores soon so I can try out all the others as I am so impressed with this one! I would recommend this lipstick to anyone and even if it is in the winter collection, I would happily wear it throughout any season! I am excited to try out more of her products, but maybe when I next get paid.

OOTD: Spring 2014

It's not overly warm at the moment, but I do feel as though sweater weather is over. It's hard to find an outfit that suits this weather, because it is so unpredictable. One minute its pouring down with rain, and the next, the sun is shining. the other day I swear it was snowing??? WHAT?! However, one of my favourite items of clothing is a shirt/blouse with a collar, as this is so versatile, plus I do love my collars as I think they are so cute and vintage and it is what I feel mostly comfortable in. You can literally buy them from any shops. I have chosen a black and white checked shirt as you can style these colours up so well with vibrant accessories. This particular blouse is from Urban Outfitters  and I must say I splashed out a little on this one. It was £40, but I needed it in my life?? OKAY, that's not an excuse, but isn't it pretty?!! As this is the main item of the look, I styled it quite simply with black leggings and brown fluffy boots, which are from River Island. In regards to socks, I would either wear some with a frilly rim which you can see over the top of the boot or some green socks, just to add extra colour and cuteness.
The main accessory in this look is my bag and it's my very bright orange bag from River Island. This was in the sale when I bought it and I do believe it still is, but they have brought out a baby pink one in the same style, but it is full price. This bag is great as it is big, but not too big and it has a longer handle which you can use if you don't want the short handles.
I probably would add a subtle longer necklace to this look as I love my jewellery and have quire a lot, but something silver would finish the look off. I don't have my ears pierced, but if I did I would wear either pearls or a silver diamond pair (fake of course).
My hair is in a half up, half down sort of style as my hair is quite long and can get quite frustrating to work with. I used my yellow polka dot scrunchie from Topshop to style my hair.
Sometimes, to define the look, lipstick can really make a difference and dependant on the look you are going for you can choose a darker lipstick or quire a subtle natural one. The three I would choose are the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in the shade 'In Love With Ginger', number 660; this is such a gorgeous orange and is pretty much the exact same colour as my bag.  Another darker shade is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade 107 as this is an amazing lipstick, smells great and lasts for ages. (I am working on a blog post for the 107 lipstick).  The subtle one would be my Bourjois Colour Boost lip gloss in the shade 'Orange Punch', number 03 as this will give a better Spring look with it being more glossy and lighter in shade.

Rimmel Moisture Renew, 'In Love With Ginger, 660'

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick, 107

Bourgois Colour Boost, 'Orange Punch', 03

I think this look is perfect for the unpredictable weather and of course everyone styles things in their own way to suit them and this is how I like to dress.

Back To Work

Tomorrow I go back to working 4 days a week and I have mixed emotions about this. I am quite excited because I have felt quite disconnected from people lately, but I am like the shyest person there is, which is weird because I am not that shy, anyway... I also have a few personal events coming up and it makes me nervous thinking about them. My job is being a waitress, and I have to say it's not the most glamorous job in the world, but its a starting point! I am very conscious at work of the fact that there isn't much/any time to even care about what I look like, but I wear probably too much make up for my job. Anyway, I am going to try and be a more confident person at work.

My make up essentials will probably just be a powder, preferably my Rimmel Stay Matte one in 'Transparent', number 001, along with a brush as I can just touch this up on my break. I will be wearing my Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' foundation to give me a radiant glow to make me look awake and I will pair this with my Avon Glow pearls as this will also, hopefully, make me look more glowy and awake. I will do the same as always with my eyes, just leaving out the black eyeliner on my waterline and replacing it with the Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in 'Nude', number 005. I think this will look more appropriate for the Spring/Summer months. I will take my Maybelline baby lips balm just in case I feel like I need it! As Easter is coming up I'll probably wear something festive in my hair, but I don't know if I am even allowed to do that, but we can get past that. There isn't really much going for me in a job like mine, so I will do the best I can to try and look presentable??

My uniform is obviously flattering?! I have a brown apron that is way too big for me, so I do have to adjust it when I put it on. I wear this over my white blouse and black skirt, which looks as professional as it can, but comfort is the most important thing. Talking of comfort, I need to look after my feet at work as I am on my feet for around 7 hours, so I picked some really comfy but stylish shoes to wear and they are really stable and suitable and cute and I like to style them with black socks with the frills at the top, even though no one really cares what my feet look like at work, but still (I couldn't find my black ones, so I improvised with some navy ones in the picture)... Obviously I will be wearing my name badge, so people know who I am and I will need a pen, which I don't actually have, so I will have to raid through some drawers to find one.

I will also have handbag essentials such as hand sanitizer, my phone, a mirror and maybe a  tester perfume, even though I won't be able to put it on at any time during the day.. so I will just use a strong one in the morning.

I think I am all prepared to go back to work and it will get me socialising again.

Beauty Favourites

I have been loving so much, beauty wise, lately. It ranges from hair products, to make up. One of my absolute favourites is the 'Clean On Me' shower gel by Soap and Glory as it has literally lasted me ages. I got this in a set for Christmas from my Grandad and have been using it since and it just seems never ending, but unfortunately there isn't much left, so I did go out and buy two more in the 'Sugar Crush' and 'Rich and Foamous'. I love the names of these products as they are just so fun and the packaging is just awesome. To me it screams vintage, but I love anything vintage, so no wonder I love these products. It smells so good and there really isn't much to say, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVE them. You can go and check out their website here or you can buy them at Boots here. To follow on from this product I also love 'The Righteous Butter' which is a body butter and I find this to be so moisturising, especially since my skin is quite dry during the winter months. There is so much product so it is definitely worth the money and this again smells so good and it does leave me feeling relaxed as I use this before bed, so yeah, go buy their products because they really are great. I will definitely be purchasing more of their products in the future.

The Maybelline Baby Lips are great. I have the blue one which is supposed to hydrate the lips, and the first time I put this on I swear it made them go all tingly, but that could have been me being paranoid and weird. But they smell great and I use this every morning and evening and it is just a great product to have. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who suffers with dry lips. I do believe that there are more colours which have different properties and you can find them here.

I have only used the Rimmel 'Wake me Up' foundation for under a week, but I absolutely love this foundation. It just gives such a flawless finish to the skin and leaves me feeling refreshed. In the winter I tend to go for a heavy coverage, but as the Spring/Summer months are coming up, I don't want my makeup to look too cakey and this foundation has a medium coverage and leaves a radiant glow to the skin. It also claims to have SPF 15, which is going to be great for the upcoming seasons. You can get this from any local Boots or Superdrug store. Also, as I am  a waitress, I do a lot of 'running' around and I don't want to look like I am all tired so this foundation should keep me looking glowy all day, well this is what I am hoping for, so we shall see next week. Rimmel is literally one of my favourite makeup brands and I think for every product is worth the money, so I definitely recommend any Rimmel product and it is great for anyone who is also just starting out in makeup as it is affordable and of great quality. For the Rimmel London website, click here.

To apply this foundation I use a foundation brush and I bought a whole selection of brushes from eBay, which I believe to be dupes of the Real Techniques, Zoeva or Sigma brushes. They are by far more affordable and I have been using them for a while and they are of super quality and I would definitely recommend them. You can buy them from eBay or amazon. They have only shed the odd hair, but what brush doesn't? Plus they are really soft and not harsh to the skin. I have washed them and they wash well and easily. I did dedicate my Sundays to wash my brushes, but I am back at work again next week, so I'll have to rethink that one. :P

Another brush I have been loving is a Kabuki one I found in Tesco, which I believe is in the Barbara Daly collection, but to be honest I have never heard of them, but they were on offer and I really needed one. This brush sheds like crazy, however it blends my make up really well and it is just a great brush. The other brushes in this collection do not shed at all, but they were a great buy, so I am not really bothered, it does the job. I don't even know where you can get them, but if you can, then go for it.

A hair brush I have been loving and looking for, for ages is the Advance Techniques back comb brush. This collection is available in Avon and anything from Avon is great and I use this brush everyday and it just gives my hair volume, but it is probably damaging my hair, but I think it's great. You can get these brushes probably from any shop these days so if you like volumised hair, then go get one because they're cheap and do the job well.
Sticking with hair products, I think scrunchies are awesome. I only own three and two I talked about in my last post. But the one in the top picture is a tartan one from River Island and I am not sure if it is still available, but it might be around Christmas time and it was only £4 and I use it all the time.

An eyeliner from miss sporty is one of my favourites and it's called the 'Miss Sporty Studio Lash Liquid Liner' and mine is in black and I swear this product is never ending. At the time I bought these they were on offer, so I bought three. I gave one to my little sister because I was nowhere near finishing the first one. But I am on the second one now and I swear I bought these like 2 years ago and I use it everyday. The only downside to any liquid liner is the length of time it takes to dry, but this doesn't really phase me. You can buy these from any Superdrug and Boots store and I would definitely recommend these to anyone who likes a dark eye make up look, but I really love them.

Models Own is mainly known for its nail polishes, which I love, but I have the gross habit of picking at my nails, so there isn't much point in me using them, however my older sister did buy me a glittery one for my 17th along with an amazing eye shadow trio in the colour 'Smokey Fire' and I have looked and I don't think its available any longer, but this was over a year ago, so no wonder. But I absolutely adore this product and I have been using it everyday since I got it and I am surprised it hasn't run out and I am nowhere near finishing it, also considering the fact I love a smokey eye and my eye make up is ridiculously dark, even in the summer. I have my sister to thank for getting me into make up as I used to be one of those kids that never wore make up until very late on in secondary school. My older sister always used to encourage me to wear make up, but I never knew how to wear it well, and I still don't know if I do. She used me and my younger sister for her photo shoots for her art projects and may I add that she is incredibly awesome and you can check out her artist blog on tumblr here and her other blog here. In this trio there is a gorgeous gold colour which I use on the inner corners of my eyes and as a base. I then use the brown over the top and in my crease and blend it. The black is to just enhance the outer corner of my eyes and gives a somkey eye effect. This set came with two small brushes which I love using and they're just cute. I really do love this eye shadow trio.

The perfume I wear nearly everyday is one from Avon and I got it for Christmas and it smells sooooo good. I believe it's in the Luxe range, whatever that is, but it's great and the bottle is so pretty and it goes well in my room. I am not entirely sure whether it is still available but if you have an Avon representative check out the catalogue.

Thank you for reading and go show my sister some love on her blog! :)

Shopping Haul

Over the past few weeks I have been shopping, well I always go shopping, but this time I have bought quite a bit! There are a few beauty items, fashion and skincare. To begin, I saw an advert on T.V. for some Simple products and because my skin is quite sensitive, I thought I would try some products. I have only bought the moisturising cream at the moment, but I would love to buy the cleansing cream and many more products and they are really well priced, so they are affordable!
As I said in my last post, I have bought lipsticks/glosses, and I bought the Bourjois Colour Boost in 'Orange Punch', number 03,which is really glossy and moisturising. I think it is perfect for the spring time. I then picked up the 107 red lipstick from the Kate Moss collection in Rimmel and this is probably much better for the Autumn/Winter seasons or for a night out. From Revlon, I picked up a ;lip gloss in the colour 'Crystal Water', number 040. This is just such a pretty gloss and can go over any lipstick if you want to make more of a statement. From Boots, I picked up the Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' foundation in Ivory, number 100 and this has an 'anti-fatigue effect and a radiant glow' which would make anyone's skin seem more glowing and perfect for the spring time, as currently I am wearing a matte mousse from Maybelline. I have heard many people rave about the Collection 'Lasting Perfection' concealer, so I had to pick it up. I have it in the colour 'Cool Medium' which is number 2. I am really looking forward to using those two products. I have never really had a proper bronzer, so I thought it was about time to buy myself one. I picked up the Rimmel's 'Natural Bronzer' in the colour 'Sunlight' which is number 021. I have tried this one already and I absolutely love it and would definitely recommend it. I also needed a blusher and because I was in a rush I just picked up the one I was closest to, which was the Barry M blusher, which annoyingly doesn't have a name or a number on the packaging. It is a lovely pink colour and it does have great pigmentation and for under £5, it is really good.

I then saw a gorgeous bright orange bag in River Island and even better it was in the sale for £25 and I have been looking for a bag for ages and this just seemed perfect for the Spring/Summer seasons and I just love it. As my wardrobe is quite boring, this is the perfect accessory to brighten things up.

Yesterday I went into the Milton Keynes Primark and they have the MOST ADORABLE Disney collection of clothes and I just couldn't resist. The first thing I saw was a really cute Bambi and Thumper T-Shirt and it was too cute for me not to get and for only £6, it was a bargain. Now there was this gorgeous Peter Pan top but there was only one left and it wasn't in my size, so to ease the pain, I saw some Tikerbelle socks and for Primark this 1 pair of socks was pretty pricey and were £2.50! But I was sad so needed them in my life :P. I the went to the pyjama section as Primark have the most comfortable pyjamas. I really wanted to buy the Moomin pjays but I didn't like the shorts that came with them, so instead I went over to the Disney section and saw a gorgeous Snow White set and I just love them. For £8 they were pretty good and they will be perfect for the warmer months I hope to come soon. The underwear in Primark is also quite pricey as one pair was also £2.50, but I saw a My Little Pony and Elmo pair and I just needed to buy them. I already bought a bigger hair donut from H&M, but I saw a smaller one for £1, so picked that up to do some funky hair-do's! there wasn't much of a make up section in the Primark I went to, but I was in desperate need of an eyebrow pencil, so picked one up for just £1 and I have to say, as I tried it today it was quite a sticky pencil and didn't feel that comfortable, but as the day has gone on, it feels and looks much better. It was cheap, so I wasn't expecting it to be that brilliant anyway.
Then I went into Outfit and in Topshop I saw the most adorable hair scrunchies and they looked like bunny ears, so I couldn't resist. I bought a yellow one with small brown polka dots, which is perfect for Spring/Summer and then  green and white stripy one, which reminded me of a candy cane, so would be great for the winter months.

I was in desperate need of make up brushes, but all the ones I really wanted to buy like the Sigma, Zoeva, Real Techniques and MAC brushes, are just too expensive for me. So I did some research and I found some dupes of the Real Techniques and Sigma ones on eBay. For both sets it was less than £25 which is a real bargain and I got 15 brushes. I was nervous about getting these brushes as I didn't know what the quality would be like, but me being me, I did some research into them and everyone had said how brilliant they were and how they were similar to the real thing. I used some brushes today and they were so soft and easy to work with and there was no shedding of hairs. I am really happy with them and glad I bought them and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who cant afford the real thing.

Thanks for reading! :)

First Blog Post

Welcome to my blog. The main aim of my blog is to express my love for make up/cosmetics and boy bands and to just talk about life in general. Loving boy bands is probably one of the best yet most expensive things to do. My music taste is probably quite unique as my personal favourites are McFly, The Vamps and 5 Seconds of Summer! Not only are all the members to die for, but they are all equally talented. I just love them, but that's a blog post of its own...so moving swiftly on!

My life got rather complicated as soon as I finished year 11. I was having trouble with myself as well as the people I associated with for personal matters. Plus I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. Many people tell you it's okay if you don't know what you want to do in the future, but from my experience its not okay. I decided to go to sixth form and I studied AS English Literature, Textiles and Art. I mainly went to sixth form because of the reason that I just didn't know what else to do. And it is safe to say that I really didn't enjoy it. I just was not motivated at all...so me being me, I dropped out at the end of year 12. But on the bright side I did get 4 AS Levels. So now I was just stuck! Yes I have a job as a waitress, so I was earning money and instead of being just weekend staff, I decided I needed to become weekday staff. I started off doing just three days, then four and when it came to Christmas I did the full 5 days. But now that we are closed until April, reality has hit me that I actually need to do something with my life.

I am subscribed to many YouTubers and my favourites have to be Zoella, SprinkleOfGlitter and Tanya Burr. I mainly watch them to be inspired as they talk a lot about beauty and make up. It has come to my attention that I am really interested in beauty and cosmetics as I watch tutorials and hauls. I can't leave the house under any circumstances unless I have make up on, which is super weird as I only started wearing it in year 10. I started to get a bit more experimental with it in year 11 and by year 12, I really got the hang of it. I love to watch their haul videos to see what they recommend and I am yet to go on a beauty haul of my own.

At the moment my favourite make up brands are Avon, Maybelline and Rimmel. I have been shopping for cosmetics at Avon for years now and I must say that they are my favourite products as there is such a wide variety of products and they are just such good quality. My favourite product is the glimmer stick diamonds eyeliner in the colour emerald but I will do a separate blog post on all my favourites.

Hopefully I will be blogging weekly, but that's all for now. Hope you all carry on reading my blogs! :)
